Pear Berry & Sesame Smoothie Bowl

Today is a smoothie Sunday, and a dairy free smoothie for that matter! We have been eating lots of rich comforting meals this last week. Maybe because we needed some comfort in the uncertain world around us at the moment or maybe just because we have wanted to indulge a little being on our Easter break and to avoid the temptation to spend too much time outside. Either way, we needed a healthier day today before returning to our new "normal" lives next week.

Quarantine should be lifting slowly soon here in Germany, with most of us teachers returning back to the classroom, combined with online teaching. I really do miss my little kiddos, so seeing them in our online lesson will be nice at least! Hopefully I will be able to see them back in the classroom soon.

This smoothie includes just the right amount of pear and a hint of sesame. I sprinkled some organic chamomile and rose hibiscus leaves on the top. It's really a tea blend that my best friend Tati from heartseasebakery put together, but it added a mild and complementing chamomile flavour to the smoothie!

Ingredients:
  • 1 banana
  • a handful of frozen berries
  • 1 pear
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
    1/2 tsp tea blend seeds

    Instructions:

    1. Add 2/3 of the banana, 2/3 of the pear and the frozen berries together in the blender and blend.
    2. Cut up the rest of the banana and pear into slices and save to layer onto the smoothie bowl.
    3. Pour the blended fruits into a bowl and top off with remaining fruit slices, sesame seeds and tea blend.
    4. Eat and enjoy!
